About Founders
Silicon Y’all began 11 years ago with the idea of bringing serious tech CEO’s and investors together in a secluded setting that promised a unique blend of collaboration, strategic insights, and fun. It was birthed out of the belief that incredible things happen when exceptional people gather that share the same values, interests, and goals.
Our initial vision was to gather leaders in the tech ecosystem that were givers and not takers. Individuals that were obsessed with adding value to others that were working to build lasting and valuable software businesses. We believed then and still believe now, that your friends determine your future.
We wanted to create a vulnerable environment where tech company founders and investors could exchange ideas, engage in thought provoking discussions, and forge lasting and valuable relationships. We hosted the event at a secluded and rural farm with great food, memorable activities, and an ambience that fostered vulnerable conversations.
The mornings were filled with interactive workshops, panel discussions, and round tables where leading entrepreneurs shared their wins and losses and the most active tech investors in the country opened their operational portco playbooks. The afternoons allowed participants to continue conversations while participating in golf, skeet shooting, hiking, and southern cooking classes. We closed out each evening with parties filled with southern barbeque, crawfish, and cigars and bourbon by the fire, which coined our fireside chats.
Something special occurred at that first gathering, which has since evolved into our annual tech summit, Silicon Y’all. Beyond just the elite retreat, the small gathering 11 years ago has transformed into an interconnected community of givers in the tech space that only continues to grow.
